There are posts in the making! But here is a snack-post to whet your appetite as you wait for the next one.

You find candied pecans/walnuts everywhere. In salads, at Trader Joes. But have you ever thought of making your own?

Fresh out of the oven, these lightly sweet, very crisp nuts make the perfect afternoon snack. I’m warning you, make ‘em right and they’re highly addictive. Lastly, they’re easy as pie. The recipe is featured here. Here is a play-by-play for your enjoyment :)

You begin by making sugar water. The ratio: 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water. You can soak your raw pecans/walnuts in there anywhere from 4 hours to overnight.

Spread those bad boys over some foil – give them an individual spot, dont pile or they’ll stick to each other!

Bake for 2 hours at 200*F (or until deep brown, every oven is different so experiment with the time a little). And let them cool with the oven. Make sure you bake them to a crisp! Thats what makes them so good.
